Introduction
My name is Brenden Vigil and I am a art major with a minor in media communications. I am a junior here at CSU Pueblo and I plan on using this experience to eventually study for my masters in graphic design. I enjoy stragtegy based games, hiking, exploring and am slowly learning more about rebuilding classic cars. I have been called B or bren as a nickname, and I do not mind if they are used or not.
This artwork is done by the artist Fabio Napoleoni, and this particular piece is called "in shadow of hope." I believe this artwork to be considered beautiful because this piece has such a deep meaning. After meeting with the artist a couple years back I fell in love with both his character and the reasoning behind the little red heart in almost every piece he does. This piece was done when his daughter was undergoing heart surgery. It is beautiful to me that this piece was made with love he has for his daughter and the attention to the mood and feelings he has. Being able to produce a piece of art is something many people can do, but to me it is the feeling the individual had in wanting to make the piece in the first place.

Hi Brenden, nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteThose are some really cool hobbies what are some of your favorite places to hike around here?
I love hiking and I lived in Leadville, so I've done most of my exploring up there, but I have to admit I haven't really been hiking around in the southern part of Colorado, but I want too!
The piece you've chosen is very touching. Now that you mentioned the little red heart it also looks like the character is lying down on half of a heart shape and the curve of his head kind of completes the shape which is very cool.
